HARRISBURG --- Eric Kiehl, a long-time advocate for care of the state’s frail elderly and disabled residents and a veteran health and human services policy advisor, has been named Director of Communications and Public Affairs of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) and Center for Assisted Living Management (CALM).

Shapiro, M.D., President and CEO of PHCA/CALM. “Eric is a dynamic communications leader and policy expert who is a strong proponent for Pennsylvania’s seniors. His track record of success in Harrisburg and his years of experience serving every corner of our commonwealth will be invaluable assets to an association as far-reaching as PHCA/CALM.”

Kiehl has spent more than 14 years in health and human services policy. Most recently, he served as the Director of Communications for the Department of Public Welfare (DPW), the country’s largest human services agency. Prior to joining DPW, he spent more than eight years as the Public Affairs Director for the Pennsylvania Homecare Association. Kiehl also spent almost five years as Public Relations Director at The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania.

Kiehl graduated from Shippensburg University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Communications in 1991.
