HARRISBURG, Pa (Nov. 14, 2024) –– The Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) inducted its inaugural class of long-term care professionals into its Rising Stars program. Thirteen long-term care employees were identified and nominated by their peers as emerging leaders within this sector who are already demonstrating exceptional skills and dedication to advancing the care of residents.
PHCA celebrated the honorees at an awards ceremony and provided the Rising Stars with a leadership program equipped with keynote speakers and a comprehensive panel discussion full of industry leaders who are helping to inspire and grow more positive changes within long-term care.
“Employee turnover has always been an issue in long-term care, but now we are starting to see more tenured leaders leave the sector,“ said Zach Shamberg, president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association. “We want to help prepare a new wave of leaders by recognizing those that have been identified by their peers as already creating positive change in long-term care – not just for their residents, but creating positive change for their colleagues as well. If we can grow new leaders with strong skillsets to help advance the mission of caring for others, we believe we can reduce employee turnover at all levels.”
PHCA’s Rising Stars represent a wide-variety of careers in long-term care, and stem from long-term care communities across Pennsylvania. This year’s honorees are:
