Morey is the vice president and general manager for HCR-ManorCare’s eastern Pennsylvania division.

“Sue’s respected leadership and trusted expertise has benefitted Pennsylvania’s elderly population for more than 30 years and will be instrumental as we work to meet the challenges of an evolving landscape for long term care in the state,” said W. Russell McDaid, president and CEO of PHCA. “Her experience as an industry expert on health care and organizational operations is invaluable to the Association and our membership. I know of no one who is more committed to ensuring that nursing homes deliver the high level of care that families expect and that senior Pennsylvanians deserve.”

Morey’s career with HCR-ManorCare spans more than 32 years, including overseeing operations in the eastern division for the past 11 years and leading a resource support team of nearly 80 professionals. She’s been a member of the PHCA Board of Directors since 2006.

“It’s an honor to serve as the president of a board that includes the leaders of the best long term-care and assisted living facilities in Pennsylvania,” Morey said. “Every day, PHCA’s members provide the highest level of care to our state’s frailest and most vulnerable elderly and disabled residents, and strive to maintain safe, healthy environments where residents can age with dignity and respect.”

A nationally recognized lecturer on wound care, Medicare regulations, documentation and geriatric rehabilitation, Morey has served as an adjunct professor, a private consultant with home health and hospice companies and is an award-winning health care author.
