Older Adults Protective Services Act: Mandatory Abuse Reporting Process & Procedures

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced in the December 11, 2025, MLN Connections Newsletter that the mandatory off-cycle SNF provider enrollment revalidation deadline of January 1, 2026, has been suspended indefinitely. ​AHCA has been regularly advocating to CMS about this deadline and the many difficulties providers have faced recently and throughout the process.​

The current dashboard includes data from CMS Care Compare through 2025 Q1. Overall Staffing Star Rating and RN Star Rating as reported in Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ 2024 Q1 - 2025 Q1).

To notify employees and administrators of facilities (including an organization or group of people that uses public funds and is paid, in part, to provide care and support to adults in a licensed or unlicensed setting) of the mandatory reporting requirements set forth in the Adult Protective Services (APS) Act.
